Compatto POI change.. interesting and confusing.

Today I was testing a few pellets from my Compatto 22 to see what it was going to like. I was very surprised and very very disappointed it wouldn't group with anything? At 25 yards groups were over an inch! I ended up rotating the shroud and moderator 90* when I done that it shot 6 inches lower and 2 inches right....but it was grouping! Not sure what was going on. I didn't see any signs of clipping but something was going on..

"Keyman62421"Just some opining. clean the barrel, find the grub screws for the barrel loosen them up reset your Barrel make sure it's straight. retighten the grub screws. just simple stuff like that
DID YOU CHRONY?
later today after it mysteriously started to group after rotating the shroud I pulled the barrel inspected the o rings...cleaned it
(It was cleaned before it shipped but it didn't hurt to do it again) and reassembled.
It got dark out so tomorrow I will check to see it it's still grouping or if it's grouping and the POI changed again. Hopefully it still groups good and no POI change.

I had a similar problem - it turned out to be the air stripper. It bent after an unfortunate fall (aka stupid mistake on my part) - the air stripper is very, very weak and can't be bent back (trust me on this one). Take off your outer shroud to see if it is bent. Since the shroud does not do much, I replaced the stripper with a larger (#31) oring from Lowes. Centers the barrel nicely and no effect on the sound due to the Hugget. Trenier Outdoors may be able to get a replacement - I will be checking with them. I would make my own, but no lathe and the threads size is funky.
