On the compatto xr is the stock polymer or black soft touch? One site says black soft touch the other says polymer. Also, what is the difference between the xr and the xr sniper? I cant find any differences.

The Compatto XR Sniper version has a factory Huma regulator installed, the Compatto XR is unregulated. I’m not sure on the stock.

Every Compatto I have handled has had a 'ballistic polymer' stock.

Awesome. So looks like I want a compatto sniper xr. Hmm .177 or .22? Im feeling the need to stimulate the economy, even though I didnt get a check

The stock on my non XR Compatto is definitely not a cheap plastic. Feels very solid and robust. Love it and my Bantam. So much so that an Concept Lite XR is the lead contender as my next PCP.

It's probably too late, but I'll chime in... I have Compattos in 177 and 22. I added an Altaros regulator to the 177 and it was EASY to do. Their not as nice as a Huma, but I am happy with it. If you can pick up an unregulated Compatto cheap, this might work for you. (I got mine for $700 new, but you can't find that price currently.)
