"Compared to What"?not Les McCann, butt Discovery scopes, like there are so many

models with so many fiddler adjustments it is easy to get lost.Nowhere can I find weight.

I see many people saying" Discovery" are great for the money, like good glass==compared to what?

In their price range,ok I get that part, butt I still need to know more, like they look heavy, are you guys going hunting with them?

I also see they can go Way up in magnification,do they lose much resolution when pushed?

Are they good for 100yd shooting?Which model would you get for 100yd.shooting?

What about 25yd.

Are they better than Mueller,or middle class Bushnell,or Vortex Crossfire,of what?

"Compared to what"? Thank you for trying to clear up my confusion.

They are heavy scopes because they have such good glass and great build quality. I bought a 4-20x50 SFIR HD FFP for my son and was absolutely astonished by the build quality. The turrets, glass, tracking and reticle are phenomenal. I would compare it to scopes costing much more money. I own Vortex Razor FFP, Vortex Diamondback tactical FFP, Athlon Ares BTR FFP, many Leupold's, Kahles FFP, etc... and this is the first scope I've purchased in a long time that really surprised me when I mounted and used it. If you are familiar with the Crossfire, it's not even a comparison, the Discovery I mentioned above is way better in every category, and I love Vortex. The Discovery is even better than the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP I own. I will buy another even higher quality model to try out soon. Definitely worth $279!!!

I own 2 Discovery scopes they give a nice and sharp sight picture from 10 yards to infinity. The model I have are 6-24 and a 4-16 both FFP. I find them to have an advantage over my Vortex scopes with a closer (10yards) parallax focus. My Sightron scopes are definitely in a class above them but the Discovery’s that I have are a $200 scope and I say they perform at a level comparable to a scope costing 2 to 3 times as much. On the downside I don’t have any faith in their warranty in my mind I view their purchase as a disposable. Hopefully the dealer in the US can help if a problem comes up but I just don’t know for sure. If you buy one put it through the hoops immediately then exchange it if there is a problem. I also don’t know how the long term performance will be. When the seals go and moisture gets into the scope they quickly become garbage. Overall if I get 5 years out of them I’ll be satisfied . When I spend more than $500 on a scope I would only buy ones from a reputable company that has a no bull poop lifetime warranty.

Hey Brian, I get what you're saying about warranty and I understand why you're saying it...Chinese Co. with no real showing in the USA. However, I bought my scope at Airgun Optics Plus and genuinely believe that if something were to happen to the scope, I would be taken care of. I have also become friends on Facebook with one of the major players at Discovery in China and believe he too would take care of any issues if there were a problem with a scope. I have found in dealing with him that they are not trying to become a fly by the seat of their pants company, here today gone next year. They are trying to grow their company into a world leader in rifle scopes. I'm not affiliated in any way, I am just super impressed with the scope I got for $279 and have looked into things a little more since buying this scope.

Got a 6-24x50 FFP that I am also impressed with. At higher powers the glass does seem to lose a little on the image quality but still very usable. As you probably know, with most FFP scopes, the cross hairs seem to grow in size expotentially with the zoom, but with my Discovery the aiming points stay VERY fine allowing you to pinpoint that small target at 100 yards and beyond … also great for short shots also. If I have a problem with the Discovery it would have to be the caps that you push in after moving the turrets, sometimes they don't line up exactly and you have to shimmy the cap a little to lock it in … not a deal breaker, but a minor annoyance. Have a Mueller, Hawk, Redfield, UTG, Vortex Diamondback and like they say, you get what you pay for but with the Discovery it seems you get a quite a bit more that what you paid for it. Like Stoti said, if you get one try getting it through Charlie Sexton at Airgun Optics Plus 828-329-2024 … that will give you someone on this side of the pond to work with should you ever have a problem which needs remediation.
