Compact scope recommendations

I have a buddy with a Veyron compact SFP and he is looking for something better. He is having trouble seeing the crosshairs and is wanting something that has a thicker reticle. He would like a light weight compact and is willing to go as high as $700-800. What would you suggest out of the scopes you have real world experience with?

Thanks

UGT Bug buster , very light and springer rated , I use it in Field Target and 1/4 inch dots on paper @ 50 to 60 yards , also on Rim Fire @ 100 yards still the same 1/4 inch dots .

I benched my Veyrons, as in put them away,,, went to Optisan CP, this is on a HW44 pistol with a carbine stock and barrel
3-12 power on top photo and 4-14 in bottom photo, easy to see reticle with 2nd focal plane,,, 1st focal is available for more $
moved the 3-12 to a springer

I have 2 of the veyron 4-12 myself. I like the scopes a lot but reticle is thin. Awesome for punching small holes in paper. Gets lost kinda easily while hunting. Last compact I got was a Marcool 4-12. Similar size and specs to the veyron with a thicker reticle. I like the reticle a lot actually. Awesome compact scope(for money) and only $100 or was before the china tariff crap.

If I wanted to spend more money I’d look into a Optisan or USO(TS-12x). Hear great things about both.

Here’s that Marcool on my Katran.

yeah don’t mess with my cheap chi products, it’s my right ! Granted I have bought most accessories and 1/2 the guns from there. Crap !

best scope I've looked through for 50 yard targets my friend uses them to 100 yards

I have heard that prism scopes as a class, like that Pinty acog clone, have differences in the optics that better suit some people's vision over (linear erector) regular length scopes. But prism scopes are mostly single magnification.
I have Immersive 5x30 and 10x40 mildot prism scopes, and while the crosshairs are fairly fine, they illuminate very well and sharply. These are unusual prism scopes in that they have parallax adjustment or focus from infinity down to just a few yards (they say 6 but I measure closer to three). The 5x30 has a normal eye relief of a couple inches but the 10x40 has almost no eye relief; the eyeball must be very close to the eyepiece, like a tele-scope not a rifle-scope. Immersive also makes a 10x24 and 14x50 short eye relief and a 5x24 longer eye relief. The longer eye relief scopes have a large field of view for their manification, and the short eye relief scopes have a huge field of view; my 10x40 has the field of view of a 3 or 4x regular scope. Pros and cons.
Immersives under the Element or MTC rebrand are ~$600 but Immersives under the Immersive name from the UK are half that.

I ran an evaluation of three compact scopes that I felt were the better of most. I weeded out the cheap ones. See my post:

The Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x33 EFR is my definition of a compact scope
It is under 11.5" by a whisker and weighs 12.1oz
Couple that with very nice (best in price range?) glass with extended focus range (EFR) and you have a very fine carry around scope
FWIW
The reticle feels a little skinny at first, but I adjusted to it quickly

just my too moa

Need a report I am considering purchasing this scope, would like to hear your thoughts.
Glass clarity
How much upward adjustment left after mounting.
Turret function.
Ok TR I got the Revere with a Vector Veyron 4-16 sfp and a Edgun Lelya with the GPO 4-16 ffp out for a
brief look. Which is all it was. Looked into the woods at 16x and tried to notice differences. It’s a grey
gloomy day. So all I can offer is I didn’t see anything noticeable. Ooo except ffp gpo top power the
crosshairs are too big for pinpoint shooting. I like the veyron sfp and crosshairs better. I do believe
the veyron comes in ffp also.
For my use and Airgun use inside 100 yards I don’t think it’s worth the almost $400 more.
jps2486 has a 3 scope comparison that I’ve used, but like I said I’ve got 3 veyrons just wanted to try
somthing else and damn the $$$$
