commercially available pellet traps for up to .22

Wondering if anyone has suggestions for any commercially available pellet traps for up to .22 caliber for outdoor use. A trap that can capture the pellet and drop it for lead recovery. Not wanting to load my property up with lots of lead all over the place.

I have thus one. It works fine, but unless you deaden the sound with something, it's very loud. I quit using it in favor of a cardboard box stuffed with junk mail.

Cardboard box stuffed with some old blankets here........I use one of those huge boxes Amazon uses to send tiny little items in.

I've got the champion.22 lr bullet trap. As has already been said, it is noisy. I've used it as a back stop when chronoing my Sumatra.25 cal which puts out around 97 fpe at the muzzle. It hasn't even dented.

I’ve used the Do All/Champions bullet trap for years. Thousands of airgun and rimfire rounds. Yes, it makes a noise when the round hits the ceiling of the trap. I placed pugs of duct seal on the ceiling and it’s now quiet. Once in awhile you have to repair the duct seal but it only takes a minute or two

i also use the do all/champion traps. I keep two out side, loaded with a sheet of 1" targets stapled to cardboard. Good stuff.

A cardboard box with rubber mulch and 2 old towels and duct tape best trap you will ever use very quite no one in the house will even know your shooting. Just plug the holes in front with duct tape, shake box after use good to go think I spent like $15 making mine been using it for 3 years now still going strong. I have shot it with .22 rimfire and it didn’t go through.

That Target Forge trap looks nice for the money. I kind of wish the opening was 8" x 8" though. But I think I will order it for those shooting times when I want to keep the pellets contained. Most of the time I am shooting into a berm I have built up out back.

I make my own pellet traps. I start w/ a box from Amazon, (I let my cats play w/ the box first) ... after they're done, I fill the box up w/ old paperback books I mostly get for free or for next to nothing. Then I wrap the box & books w/ several layers of gorilla duct tape.

Then I start using it. I use sticky bullseyes for targets. After each group, I'll cover the group w/ more gorilla duct tape or just plain duct tape. I have yet to have a single pellet penetrate both sides of the trap and each trap I have has several hundred pellets in it.

I have put together similar box traps except I have used old rags and clothes for stuffing. The only drawback is the aggravation of getting the pellets out of the box stuffing. I use a big box target I framed out of lumber and stuffed with cloth for an archery target. It has worked great for ten years now. But arrow recovery is easy.
