I just viewed the ‘how to refill a 300 DIN tank’ Coltri YT video. The tank and compressor were at the same height on the table.

With a quality desiccant filter, it is simply not possible to have any liquid water occur in the lines after it. Since the filter is built into the compressor, it does not matter where the tank is in space relative to the compressor . . .

I crack the valve on my Icon about every 3-4 minutes for a quick bleed of moisture while filling any bottles and there's not much coming out. 5 to 10 minutes, depending on bottle size, for a top-up from about 200 bar. I end up filling more for friends than for myself lol

Anyone here use those two white plastic discharge hoses to release pressure / drainage from the two manual drain plugs? They show them and a drainage containment receptacle in the Nuvair YoyTube Coltri instructional videos.
I looked on the Nuvair “parts and accessories” section and could not find either the hoses or the convenient receptacle.
This is a luxury item I realize, and definitely not needed, but I was curious about pricing.

I got the Icon petrol, placed on a little trolley, so condensate i just blow out the bottom onto the grass or gravel.
Since i got it, looking for where the Electric Chinese MCH6 clone failed have not been high on the agenda, but i reckon come the dark cold days i will do something about it, for now all i know is it aint the 2 highest pressure stages CUZ i have checked those and replaced some parts there though as far as i could tell not really needed.

But of course just a few months of use on it, filling / boosting a bottle or two every 2 weeks or so.

My first tank fill with the ICON LSE. Hello new compressor, goodbye Dive Shop. 
Tuxxing 6.8L tank at 2800 psi - start pressure
Finished fill tank Pressure about 310 BAR on compressor gauge. 4550 psi on Tuxxing tank gauge.
My Electrician tested output amperage at 15-16 AMP with compressor running earlier today, no fill tank was attached at the time.
Start up AMP load on his amp meter was 44 Amp for a second at compressor start. Quickly came down to a steady state 15-16A for the next 4 minutes. At the time he tested with his AMP meter, I did not have my 6.8L hooked up. I’m guessing under pressure this will run at the Coltri spec of 17A during a fill.

Anyone try removing the cap for the oil dipstick? It’s not threaded but I can’t pull it up with my fingers. Can I use a pliers or needle nose to pull it straight up without damaging? I want to check the color of the oil on the dipstick.
Same is true with purification filter. In the Nuvair instructional video, the filter pops out as soon as you unscrew the cap. Not true with my filter. There is a spring underneath the filter, but the filter is firmly secured in the housing and will not budge.
How do you remove it? Any ideas?

Edit: Just went out to garage and removed the purification cap and pushed down on the filter firmly a couple of times. About the third push, the spring activated and popped up the filter. Don’t have to replace until 10 hours of run time on the meter. Nuvair recommends replacing the filter o-ring with every replacement filter.

2nd edit: Oil cap on dipstick came off. Used a vice grip with cloth to pull straight up and plug came off. It was fastened very tight and I could not pull off with my fingers.
Green oil color in glass oil fill bubble is ‘tainted’ by green O-ring reflection, making the clean gold colored oil look like it’s green and dirty.
Rest assured, the green color is a reflection and the dip stick oil is yellow/gold.

They are indeed SOB on there, even more so than om ny Chinese copy that’s also on there good.
I am brainstorming some kind of MOD for it, CUZ i like to check oil and that thing is on there good.
For actual gauging the dipstick i do NOT press it all the way down, CUZ it is on there that well for my old fingers that at least by oy own account are still working as expected.
Honda Motor dipstick is a bit strange at a angle like that, but i manage.

Actually, I found out that you must push the dip stick “all the way down” to get a true reading on my electric compressor. If you don’t the end of the stick does not go deep enough into the oil reservoir.
Btw, this can also be true checking oil in some cars as well.
I should add that checking the oil glass bubble is much easier to see the proper oil levels vs. the drama of yanking off the oil dipstick cap each time. In fact, Nuvair ( Mitch ) told me on Friday that most of the techs ignore removing the dipstick when changing or checking oil fill levels.

That is indeed true, you have to compensate for this 3-4 mm difference on the Icon compressor.
so as long as i see above MIN on the stick i am all smiles.
And trust me i would not do that on a car dipstick CUZ those i have never experienced to be that good fit.
Also experienced a machinist / engineer apprentice on a ship, fill several 100 liters too much oil on the main engine, and us not seeing any of the blast doors on the engine go off, but we was all out of main engine oil until we hit port and got a few tonnes pumped on board, and several barrels of various lubricants and cleaners which 65 Kilo / 143 LBS 6 foot 3" me had to manhandle alone and stow away.
Of course plenty of room in such engines, with a little good will you can have a 4 man poker game in the crank case, though i have always been a bit freaked by that massive crank above you.
Also Burly Danish B&W / MAN diesel engine, so will take some abuse just keep it under 90 RPM.

Just saw this on the Airguns of Arizona website. Daystate came out with a larger compressor than the Leggero.
This is a Coltri MCH-6 3 HP, just like the one I purchased from Nuvair. About the exact same price. The outside frame is different with the Daystate logo on the cage.

Now, that I have one of these Coltri compressors, I find myself ‘purposely trying’ to use more air & fire more shots at the range. I used to be a bit more conservative so that I could extend the fill interval of driving to the Dive Shop. Now, I top of my two bottles at higher PSI pressures, just because I want to use it.
I do want to force myself to give it a good test at 3000 psi to 4600 psi ( auto shutoff threshold), just to run it a bit longer during the break in period.
My wife thinks I’m crazy. I’m sure some of you can relate. Between going out into garage and cleaning barrels, replacing breech o-rings, changing scopes, using the new compressor, etc, etc….
Like Waylon Jennings famously wrote in one of his popular songs, “ I’ve always been crazy, but it helps me from going insane.”
