Coltri from Nuvair?

It's become painfully obvious that I'll be needing a backup compressor for when my Daystate breaks again.

I dont mind the mch3 at all, I'm just not willing to be without air for as long as it takes to get the Daystate fixed.

I dont remember reading about anyone here buying a Coltri fron Nuvair, and what sort of service they got when it needed attention.

I'm also considering an Alkin w31 but its 220vac and its 1000 more than the mch3, plus another 500 to 1000 to run a circuit for it.

I'm so frustrated :(
 
Not familiar with the Coltri or the Alkin. When I upgraded from a Shoebox, I picked up a compressor for shelden sporting goods. $2500 plus shipping for one that is darn near bullet proof. I've had mine for several years now trouble free. I have been using it for mine and my buddys tank and I havent even come close to the hours for an oil change on it. 



Edit... just checked and all on his site now is 220. I had a 220 for a well pump that I never used so I tapped off that. Easy peasy.

I have a Nuvair/Colrti MCH-6. The compressor has about 61 hours of use so far. I’m very happy with it. Top up my Joe B. 70 plus cu ft tiger shark from 3000 to 4300 in around 10 minutes. I believe the mch-3 is a 3 stage unit and is rated at 220 bar max.

I have a Daystate LC110 which is a rebrand mch-3. The problem is I sent it out to get fixed 6 weeks ago :(

I wouldnt mind getting the Coltri branded one if I could expect reasonable repair times.

The mch-6 is also used by Daystate in their T2 model, but its 220vac in that configuration. I really cant justify the additional $1k for the mch6, plus the expense of an electrician.

Got to love Coltri, they can't get the oil fill directions right in the manual and I swear someone commented earlier on this thread about the MCH3 being 232 bar and sure enough, it says so https://www.nuvair.com/mch3.html I recall the LC-110 is pretty much a slightly modified MCH-3 EM (Electric Motor) LC (Low Consumption).

So I figured I'd look at the manual, because I could've swore it was 310 bar before. https://www.nuvair.com/manuals/MCH-3.pdf

Page 17-44, in English, max operating pressure is 232 bar or 3,300 PSI

Page 17-44, in Italian, max operating pressure is 300 bar or 4,300 PSI

LOL. I own a LC-110 from AOA it just cracks me up with Coltri/Daystate and the sea of mystery because of the poor quality manual/conflicting specifications.

I also bought a compressor from Jim. It is a four stage model that produces K-Quality breathing air. It is designed for use in military aircraft and works under most any conditions. As Rob said - it is, literally, bullet proof. It does require single phase 220, but any electrician can take two 110 leads and make it work for under $100. Wish I had bought it years ago.

Jim is a fine, honorable, gentleman who can provide advice and assistance.

Have you considered a gasoline or diesel engine version. Wouldn't have to worry about the voltage. I believe both Nuvair and Alkin list gas version compressors.
