Cold weather and cold turkey

I'm trying to shoot everyday spending an hour or two outside but these real cold days you just can't get out there and shoot. your gun sounds like it's trying to Rattle apart when it's really cold. what's everybody else do on these cold days, just go into withdrawal?

Yep. PUT 200 pellets through the gauntlet today but very cold weather is due here in coastal SC so that will be all for me until I can again shoot in at least 45 degrees. Looks like it's going to be awile.

Try to shoot my 50yd targets out of a window in the spare bedroom. Problem is at -11F escaping heat waves really make 1" dots dance around. Uj

So while on the subject...will shooting in weather below freezing harm your AG or internals? Inquiring minds what to know...temp is getting down to 19 degrees in my neck of the woods Monday morning and my son and I planning on a squirrel hunt.

Single digits (Fahreheit) all day today in Central Indiana, going sub-zero tonight and tomorrow. I am prepared, though - bought a used Avanti 853 last Fall and am blasting away at targets both paper and can. No richochets, no overpenetration, and all the joy of a Lothar Walther barrel.

Little "nippy" on the East Side of South Dakota today. We had a Low of 20 below zero and a high of 9 below zero. We also have a nice little "breeze" just in case it gets to warm!

In this weather you can suffer frostbite in under 10 minutes. I am very concerned that the folks that are partying tomorrow night might be is some trouble if they happen to run there car in a ditch on the way home and are to drunk to know to stay in there car.

Well here in this part of Arizona we don't have much cold weather, so I shoot outdoors all year long. But summer heat can be brutal.

When there is a will, there is a way. Pop up tent with personal heater, etc. Personally I just set up outside and shoot every so often throughout the day as I can, as long as it’s not raining .

17 degrees with wind chill around 0 here on eastern Long Island. Too cold for me to shoot, gotta be above freezing at least. Spending the day on the forums and FB wasting time. Gonna head down to the gun room and putter around a little bit, swap some scopes around and organize some stuff. Have to get my airgun fix somehow right?

but now with a bad back and no reason to push limits just to shoot airguns I am indoors dealing with those crazy heatwaves, cant turn the scope up over 10x, still have 50 yards - about 53 now- and can set up a couple hundred yards out the other side if I want to. 

but these pesky things are drawn to the sound of pellets hitting the target, sounds funny but there are 100 of the things.

I pretty much head in for the winter (Mid Nov - Mid April) to the basement and shoot bench rest and practice off hand and seated for Field Target.

I shoot out of my office in the barn, can get out to 50 yds when pond is not frozen, 150 right now.

The mirage coming out of the door is tough, but if I'm 67 in my office when its 1 degree outside i will deal with it.

Hehehe silly turkeys. I lived in a house were them birds would come hang out all day. Lol only during hunting season! When it gets cold and my finger itches for the trigger, I open a window and set up targets. I have set up a shooting gallery in the house and pop cans with my Daisy 25 & the crosman cowboy. I use an old rug hung from the ceiling as a back stop. Works well and you can pick up the BBs with a magnet
