So one of my CO2 pistols and one of my CO2 rifles will leak a little CO2 out after installing them. I put a small piece of thread tape over the small end of the cartridge, and a drop of silicone oil on top of that. However, immediately after screwing it in, it will leak a small amount continually, then after I fire a few shots ,it stops
Particularly on my umarex S&W M&P 40. Which I know these magazines suck anyway. I've disassembled this magazine and put silicone oil on all the gaskets. Tightened everything back up, and it helped, but it still leaks a little. So I put a layer of gasket maker around the main CO2 seal, surrounding the piercing knob. That is currently curing, and I'll see what it does tomorrow.
I did the same with Sig MCX, put a layer of gasket maker around the piercing knob. It is also curing, I will see if it fixes it tomorrow. When I put the co2 cartridge in, it will shoot co2 out the bottom of the magazine well. Then after a few rounds it stops leaking. I still get well over 120 shots with it, but it still leaks in the beginning
I know these are also notorious for leaking , and just being overall crappy. Mine is a newer version so it's not as bad. I guess my question is with a slow and short leak like that, are the seals cracked ? I would guess so , anyone else have these issues? Any experience with the gasket maker stuff on CO2 guns?
