Evening everyone,
Some of you may recall a thread I started a week ago at how impressed I was with a CMP airgun match In Aniston, AL I also mentioned that today was a rimfire match just down the road in Talladega. I had everything prepped and loaded and drove up, arriving right on time. Imagine what went through my mind when they told me there wasn‘t a rimfire match today. I had signed up and been given the date by the competition director but apparently they didn’t bother to let anyone know there weren’t enough entries to make it worth the trouble. While I remained calm and polite there must have been a look on my face indicating my displeasure. I ended up with my range card after watching a video but still have to demonstrate competency out to 600 yards. At least I get a free day at the range. Still I had to drive 100 miles there and 100 home, uphill both ways.
I’m entered in the match at the end of October but if this crap happens again I won’t be back. It’s kind of amazing how one range runs so smoothly while the answer to literally ever question at the other was to check online.
