Close range night rat killng optics

Any recommendations? I'm looking to kill rats in very tight quarters in low to no light, as close as 10 ft. And up to 50...

It's hopefully an infrequent task but the family horse barn is over run, and traps aren't getting it done.

Rats are not afraid of light if always on day and night might take a day two to acclimate .

Red dot on an accurate pistol works good on those close shots.

A simple red light that you can clamp to your present scope would be very effective in the conditions you describe...

Nikko Stirling Nighteater was developed specifically for South-African night hunters, you can probably find some from FT shooters relatively inexpensive or ebay.

Depends on how much you want to spend, like others have stated you can use any color mounted light, but if you want something fancy. Shoot me a message and I can point you in the direction of some Night Scopes....

or......you can get serious and invest in a tripod, gimble and day/night scope!!

there is nothing like semi-auto for killing rats.

this set-up is good for 5 yards to 50 yards.

Pard NV007 to mount on existing scope or NV008 full night vision scope, I have the NV008 on my Prod and it works great for close range, it doesn't have the laser range finder which is not needed for close range, just know your Hold over and under.

or just use a red light for the cheap route, it works.

WOW, thanks everyone for some good advice I can think about. I actually gravitated to the Pard 008 before making this post, but the sticker shock got me. Lots to think about now! I may study up on these options and reach out to some of you for more details...

Kevin, most critters are unable to detect the red light spectrum visually.....hence Luis's recommendation for an inexpensive option using a red flashlight (cheapest option and can mount an inexpensive phone mount to scope to record video FYI).! Have fun researching and get those rats!
