Though its certainly not fool proof (maybe I should say scam proof) we always recommend checking the Known Scammer List before engaging in any transactions.
The
Classified Rules have some good tips: AGN has provided you with several tools to help research unknown members. We suggest checking out: the buyer/seller Profile, Accuracy score, buyer/seller
Feedback section, and the
Known Scammers List. Their profile will show you their total number of posts, as well as their Accuracy score. If the buyer/seller has not yet established a reputation on AGN, then we suggest you cautiously consider alternative sources such as: other forums, Amazon, Ebay, etc. We also strongly encourage you to talk to the buyer/seller directly before making any transactions. Remember if something smells fishy, then it probably is. If you need assistance confirming a member’s physical location simply “Flag” the ad, or send us a Private Message.
Should you run into any questionable characters, please notify a
Moderator/
Administrator immediately. We will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner.
And there's also some good advice in this pinned topic of the Classified section
https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/wtb-ad-scams/?view=all We're working on some rather complicated but really advanced ways to help identify & block scammers, but we need y'all to do a little investigative work too.
Thanks
