Cleaning wood stock

Can anyone help me regarding properly wiping down your Airgun that has a wood stock?



i thought just apply damp rag with wood conditioner?



is that a big No No?



please help

If it's raw wood, I use vegetable or corn oil. Wipe and buff. I have a walnut gun rack I made in the 70's and it still looks like I made it yesterday

I used those wraps and found that it left a little residue that I need to wipe off and want to ensure I don’t destroy anything

Well if it,s a finished stock why not furniture polish?

I ended up using hoppes gun oil and was able to get it good as new after a few rounds but I tested a small spot with steel wool pad and softly rubbed the gummy tape off with the gun oil and it worked great.

it was a chance I took and luckily it worked perfect 

I did get some stock and sheen wood conditioner and put that on afterwards and it’s like brand new again
