Cleaning the bore of a uragan question

a lot of guys do not like the bore snake because of the possibly of the wire brush cutting the o-ring. a lot of guys including myself use the pull style like the Napier Pull-Thru Cleaning Kit.

On the bore snake I'm talking about the wire bristles.

Yes Uragan has an oring in the barrel like most PCP airguns. Do not use a bore snack, I would not use one in any airgun they are not needed. Use a patch worm but be very careful to get the patch started straight in the barrel, if you do not you can actually pull the breach oring out (Trust me I did it).

If you do pull the breach oring will have to pull the barrel out and it is a pain in the but to do.

Mine is a 25 maybe with the 30 you could replace it without removing the barrel, but I am guessing not.

Did you just wing the teardown and reassembly? Or is there a manual for this? Like i said before, it appears there is a gross lack of info on these rifles.

I recently blew the barrel o-ring out of my Uragan Standard in .22 and took it apart for the first time to get the barrel off and replace it.

Between the video showing how to get the initial covers off to get to the retention screws and the walk through description and diagram provided by Derrick Wall (thanks again) I was able to identify which screws I was after and where they were they were. In my opinion it was a relatively simple procedure.

Take stock off. Take the action cover off. Take the scope rail off. You will have (4) set screw securing the barrel at the breech action. You will have (8) set screws securing the barrel at the cocking/rail/trigger assembly.

*** NOTE *** I think I only had 4 set screws securing the barrel at the cocking/trigger assembly point not the 8 that Derrick references

You don’t have to degas to do this. However, if you want to leave the barrel secured to the cocking/rail/trigger assembly, you could degas (bleed-down screw is under bottom accessory rail) disconnect high pressure hose and trigger turn-buckle from one side. With this done you could remove the (4) action set screws securing the barrel and separate the two assemblies. No need to take off scope rail is going this route. *Caution, even with the bottle depressurized, you have regulated pressure downstream of the reg. The gun can still fire a few shots!!

I hope that helps.
