Cleaning the barrel of impact M3

I've only been in the pcp airgun world for maybe a year and definitely have a lot to learn still. One thing I've seen conflicting info on is cleaning your new FX Impact M3 barrel. I've had mine for about 5-6 months and never cleaned it. I've got it shooting quite well, but of course always trying to improve. Is this something I should do or not worth it?

Imo, always give er a good cleaning when you first get it. For pellets, can shoot forever it seems with no cleaning. With slugs, clean when groups start opening up.

You'll find a mixed bag of opinions here though. I personally have never been able to 'shoot through' when groups open up.

I clean using a patch worm. You can’t go wrong with a clean barrel. It usually takes a few shots to settle back in after a good cleaning. I’ll clean every 300-500 pellets. Just my opinion. My guns shoot damn well, so I must be doing something right.
