Cleaning a Swarm Maxxim

So just received a Swarm Maxxim in .22. Thought it would be good to clean the barrel. Anyone have an easy way to clean the barrel. Kinda PITA when dealing with the magazine loader then the sound baffles on the end of barrel.

I got it done but looking for easier way than what I did which was removing the swarm pellet loader assembly.

I use a crown saver and drinking straw. I put the straw in the moderator to feed the rope thru the straw works . Try to get the larger straws like from a restaurant. That is how I clean my swarm 22

That's a good idea will have to try that.

You leave the loader for the mag attached? 

I've been thinking about replacing the retaining pin on the auto loder with a clevis pin / cotter pin if I can find one small enough. Would be easier than the c-clip holding it now. Then it's just a quick release pin and a couple spring retainers and the swarm mechanism is removed.

I think it's interesting they suggest to clean after every use on a gun that is kind of a pain to clean.

Yes I leave loader in. Only time I clean a barrel is when the gun is new or when my groups start to open up

The loader will lift up enough to access the breech to clean it out. Definitely give it a good initial cleaning.

Remove the magazine, then pull back and up.....and the magazine bracket will stay out of your way while cleaning.

Did you throw your owners manual away ?

LOL owners manual......... Came with a warranty card, pamphlet on how to mount 4 different types of scope/scope mounts and a little 2x3 booklet with I think 4 pages (in my language) of this is a trigger, this is a barrel how to sight but nothing on cleaning or how to get the loader mechanism out of the way. I searched Gamo site and there's nothing I've been able to find. So I completely removed the loader mechanism since it was in my way.
