Daisy Cleaning a Daisy Barrel

Model 25, 111, Red Ryder, and 499. My question is finding something small enough to push down the barrel and keep a cleaning patch from falling off. From the previous post, I guess if I just had a rod that was small enough in diameter, I could push some felt cleaning patches down. Not sure if I can find a small enough dowel rod though.

If you ever get the inclination to seek it out they have coated cleaning rods in 177 for the rimfire and centerfire 17 pb guys. Some drill rod blanks(obscure) might work in a pinch, or a copper ground wire off some romex... At least it's copper.

You can buy a one piece 177 cleaning rod. Also a muzzle guide if it’s the only option. I use the Birchwood “honey comb” patches. They collect lead and debris. Cut them down to size. I only clean a new or used gun once to make certain it’s clean. (unless it’s spewing oil) Then felt pellets thereafter. In a springer be sure to backup the felt pellets with a lead one.
