I've been shooting cicada's since I was about as old as the kid in the background. Think they make a racket as they are naturally? Put a BB into them and they will really howl.

Ha! Brings fond summer memories when my dad would take me and my friend out to the desert bordering town where we would spend hours shooting cicadas off Palo Verde trees with our Daisy BB guns.

I remember this one cicada I shot back in the day. The BB must have short circuited its internal gyroscope or something. It started to fly off, then started flying in a circle, w/ an ever decreasing diameter of the circle while rapidly decreasing its height. After about 10 circles it crashed and burned.

My Dad was watching, said: "Lemme try that".

We haven't had the hatch yet. Maybe the little buggars drowned from all the rain we have been getting. It finally dried enough to mow today, and is raining again as I type. Next break in rain is supposed to be ~the 9th. Hard to complain after so many years of extreme drought.

I seem to recall having some mercury in my 1st 'chemistry set' back then too. It's a wonder that thing never blew up, the stuff they used to put in them. Hey Crow ... did you ever get a pair of cross action tweezers for that small breech on your TX200?

Mercury! I remember my dad bringing home old mercury switches and we broke them open and had a baby food jar half full of it. I remember pouring it into my hand and feeling the absolute contact of liquid metal…now all you guys will understand my problem lol!

Nope, not joking at all. This is what I have.

They're just the thing for loading pellets in the small chamber of my Winnie 1977XS and a godsend for steel breeched, Crosman 1377 / 1322. I imagine they'd work just fine for the TX200. Which might be handy when the cicada horde reaches you.

I rented a second excavator for a month, finished on 18th, can’t wait. Burned out. Then gun time, I wanna shoot flies and bugs, never experienced before. Crow

I did try regular tweezers 1st to seat the pellets before the cross action tweezers arrived. Regular tweezers might damage skirts. Probably be better not to press too hard on the waist of them.

I haven't damaged any of the pellets I've used the cross action tweezers on so far; i.e. Daisy 7.87 gr, RWS 8.3 gr, Crosman 7.9 gr cphp,/10.5 gr piranha's and Jsb 7,33's. The Jsb 7.33's likely had the most delicate skirts next to the daisy's. 

I can't speak for other pellets; but, as those listed above aren't the only .177's I have, I'm tempted now to go through the inventory just to make sure its all good.

I don't know how far you live from Ohio or Indiana; but, its possible you may yet get to see a cicada. Or probably lots of them.

I’ll order a pair. I’m having problems with TX200 .22. I don’t know how guys load .!77. Awesome gun to shoot deadly accurate. Believe it or not I have the pro sport as well which I don’t find quite as bad as the TX 200 but close. I have some forceps I’m gonna do a try grab it lightly and see if it works.
Before Covid I used to sneak into Michigan 5-6 times a year and I will try to sneak my way over to Chicago once a year greatest city in the world. 10 1/2 hour drive but worth it. Michigan’s only a couple hundred miles from me. Indiana has the best fireworks. Never saw a Cicada, but I’ll watch from now on. Unfortunately I won’t have my gun or knife. Crow

Like these? Those look like they would work. Tad more inexpensive too than the cross action tweezers I got from them.

Canada and/or Michigan doesn't allow you to bring your air rifle to the U.S. ? I didn't know that.
