Chronographs

I've had one a couple of years. It works great, have had no problems. I tune air rifles indoors, and it's very handy to have this, since it needs no light source and no shooting space, as the sensor attaches to the muzzle. I just shoot into a padded box beside my stool. If I want to chrono multiple rifles, outdoors, I'll use a conventional chrono.

elh.

Yeah, all of my shooting is indoors, and space for a table mounted unit is limited, so this may work well for me. I've seen the small FX Chronograph that hangs off of the barrel too. It seems to be a nice setup, but I've read and seen that it doesn't like switching from multiple guns. Seems people have had problems doing this, so...I've kept looking.

May give this a try.

Thanks.

The sensor technology is some of the best, but I had a very frustrating time with two different units and gave up. The most accurate and reliable indoor chrono has been the LMBR, but I shot and killed it. Now I just use a Caldwell with Scotch tape over the light sensors

Whats the scotch tape do?

Diffuses the light (exceptionally well!)

I bought one when they were still fairly new to the market.

I havent had any issues changing from one gun to the next or any loco readings. Just have to make sure that it is lined up correctly.

For me it just didn’t work out. I like to see my speeds when shooting for groups or zeroing in the scope. With the weight on the end of the barrel it changes my POI. Can’t use it with my bow either.

So for right now it sits on a shelf in the barn. Maybe I will dig it out this week to see if it still works.
