This young one took some work and about 2 hours of stalking. As I came out my back door, I noticed this one at my neighbor's central a/c unit. This is a favorite spot for chippers to dig their dens and I have permission to kill them in this location. I set up the first time, but after 45 minutes or so, I quit, and went back in. I left the "rest" and chair in place.
About 30 minutes later, I went back outside and saw the chipper again and it hid behind the a/c unit again, but this time I was determined to wait it out. It took nearly another hour, but the young chipper finally came out for the last time.
Range was ~13 yards. Heart shot DRT, no movement after the shot. Passed through. I was seated and gun was rested on a cushion.
Rifle is .177 Benjamin Fortitude Gen2 using CPUM 10.5 @ ~750fps for ~12+fpe. Scope is Aim Sports Alpha 6 4.5-27x50
First pic is entry. Second pic is exit. Ping pong ball for scale.
Maybe I'll have a cigar later this evening...

A while later I got this one at my wood pile. Another young small one. Also at ~13 yards. Head shot.
This young one did the "death dance" so vigorously that it wiggled its way under the wood pile and through the hole in the privacy fence behind it. I had to fish it back with a long stiff wire. That and the excess blood is why I prefer heart shots. Although some say the head shot is better for DRT, at least on rats and chipmunks I have better results with precision heart shots. YMMV
