Chipper #50 for the season, #3 for September

Well, I had a chance at another youngster at ~47 yards, but I couldn't get the gun stable against the tree fast enough this time. So, I waited for this one to show again and while I was waiting another full grown adult came around my privacy fence about 15 feet away, saw me and ran.

So, I decided to go back inside and set up at the "sniper window" and wait. The big one didn't show (yet), but the young one that I saw at ~47 yards did.

This one was facing me at ~35 yards on all fours with head slightly up. Shot went basically right between the eyes. DRT, no pass through. I am sure the shot entered the body cavity and may have gotten the heart. Ping pong ball for scale.

.177 Benjamin Fortitude Gen2 using CPUM 10.5 at ~750fps for ~12+fpe.

Still haven't smoked a cigar... (chuckle)

I thought I had them bad but Holy Chips Batman!!! You have a ton. Another well placed shot, aim little miss little!

Thanks Oliver!

They are JUST coming back. I expected an explosion of chippers about this time, but so far it is much less than that. Maybe the next couple of months will provide a LOT more opportunities for shots. (hopeful chuckle)

The Fortitude has the Aim Sports 4.5-27x50 scope and it usually stays at 27 power for all ranges.

If I ever get the .177 DAR Gen2 successfully/accurately tuned for sub ~12fpe, it has an Athlon Argos BTR 8-34x56 ffp on it and it will also stay at 34 power most of the time.

Aim small, miss small. (smile)
