Sorry no pics. I had a really good run for the last 40 chippers. 40 shots and 40 kills.
Then, suddenly, I started missing. Missing. Missing. Missing... AARRGGHH!!!
Checked scope zero, fps, barrel band, etc, etc, etc, etc...
Then I remembered that I had changed "tins" of pellets about the same time I started missing. I thought these were new tinned pellets, CPUM .177 10.5 gr.
However, I forgot that I had sorted (I had to because of numerous/multiple defects) pellets from a "brown box" of the same pellets and placed them in a tin.
Well, once I figured out that might be the problem, I pulled out a NEW unopened tin of .177 CPUM 10.5gr and guess what?
Well, I still have not gotten back to 1 MOA or less at 27 yards, but they are grouping better...
So, I still have some work to do to pin down the problem and yes, it could be the shooter. I never dismiss ME as the possible cause of problems.
Anyway, #41 was not a good clean kill. Chipper was facing away from me and I fudged the shot. It hit near the hind quarters, but in the 2 minutes it took me to go out and find/examine the kill, the rodent was totally and completely dead. Although it did manage to run about 15 feet.
Don't remember the cigar, but I am enjoying some Bourbon and a CAO Flathead V660 Carb 6x60 (95 rated) at the moment. Very good! Maybe excellent!
