Yes, but now I have to decide whether to trash the chipped moderators or just keep them in a box.

Do they still function as intended (IE: reduce muzzle report)?

Did the damage effect the outward cosmetic?

If it bothers you and money is no issue, I'd trash/replace either the unit or inquire into new endcaps with Donny. Just my 2/c

How about a picture? Never heard of a "chipped" moderator. I do have a DonnyFL which I hung on a shroud once. It took a very hard hit but no "chips" happened. There was damage to the crown, very slight and the thing still shoots just fine.

See if Donny can get you a new end cap, maybe one caliber up in size. Personally, I've never had a clipping issue with his mods and I've owned 5. Even my 22/25 doesn't clip with 34 grain or 31 Cudas.
