Our chipmunks dug out an underground tunnel system during drought years. It turned out they did that in the flow path of rain water, which we get plenty now. Their construction work was washing out and recently collapsed, and we need to level it using a lot of soil. They also leave dozens of holes that trap my kids. They are very sassy, if not downright aggressive, too.
Heck, they keep finding ways into my basement, where they eat poisoned mice bite and die. I can help them to die in a more humane way.
It's actually even worse than that. Because of the safe no dog haven we get a lot of rabbits, which attract coyotes, who leave the chewed off rabbit heads and intestines behind on the flower beds. Not talking about the deers terrorizing the neighborhood and occasional black bears.
