Anyone has one of them chinese scopes that look like Hawke ones? I wonder if they are knock off's, or if they are actually the same product just without the brand name.

While I don't pretend to know what's going on in this case, in a previous hobby I saw many instances where a Chinese factory hired to make a product would quietly "back door" inferior knockoffs of that same product. They were stealing someone else's research/design to sell elsewhere. Shameless and destructive to the hobby.

Yes, all mind are made in china to hawke specs. Alot of good name brand stuff is made there just has to meet the right specs.

Do be carful though. If they are ripping off Hawke, they may be putting inferior glass in as well.
I've been in touch with BSA and Zeiss to identify real from knock off scopes on eBay. If you expect to get a quality Zeiss or Hawke for $100 or so, when the real deal is $500 and up, think again. It's just a knock off and you might get lucky, and you might not.
I love it when the Zeiss knockoff's say in the ad, "Specifically for oriental market, US marketing does not know about this model!"
It's a rare occasion to purchase a quality scope, so please buy from a reputable vendor to ensure you get the real deal and please DON'T reward the scammers. It gripes me to see the thieves make more money by selling forgeries.

Thanks for your input Saltlake58. I indeed will steer clear from the knock off ones and will get the real deal.
By the way, tactical wholesalers.com have pretty good prices on Hawke optics.
