I'm new to air rifles and just received my Diana model 48 in .22 a couple days ago and have only had the opportunity to shoot it one time for about 50 shots. I have the open sights pretty well dialed in at 20 yards and have found a decent hold. I was going to buy a scope and ordered the RWS 1" mount when I ordered my rifle but after talking to Leupold I'm going to use a 4.5-14 x 40, 30 mm, side focus VX 3 that I have sitting on a shelf with my reloading stuff. I ordered a UTG DN T06 mount so I can use my Weaver six screw tactical rings.
Is anyone using cheek risers on their springer rifles with scopes? I've watched a bunch of videos and the only rifles I see with risers are PCP's. I under stand how critical the hold is on springers and I don't want to bury my cheek, just a touch for reference. Kinda like when I shot a bow, the string always just touched the tip of my nose. I have the kydex to make the riser as I've made them in the past for my centerfire rifles.
Thanks, guys.
