Another outstanding job Joe. Beautiful job on the stock, but the cold bluing that you do is an awesome additional touch. Then on top of all that, a complete rebuild, what more can a guy ask for. My hats off to you Sir.

Anyone that hasn't seen your " cold bluing " video on YouTube is really missing out, if they ever intend to give it a try. imho

This one actually still has the original factory blue . All I did was take her apart , clean and lube ,change seals and play with the springs till it felt right . I have about 6 different springs to play with but I am very pleased with the stock

I like the shape of that stock. I want to make a mold of one. It's the perfect shape for a target stock. It's got the wide forearm with a flat underside to rest on with no can't issues, a vertical grip that looks well positioned and the round edges are ideal for strength and rigidity.

I bet it's super comfy and stable. Did you make it or is it a factory stock?

Its a factory 300s stock from 1976. Back when Bruce Jenner was still a cowardly dude . And yep its a gun I got from Carel ( great guy )

That wood looks like Princess Tree (Paulownia) beautiful stuff and stable as can be. I made a crossbow stock from it once. Turned out pretty nice.

Thanks Johnny . I really like the Universal stock just as well ...But the ones I've refinished usually don't have as high a quality of wood from what I've seen . I've got a 300 sporter on the way I'm anxious to strip down and see what lies beneath
