Cheapie but goodie.....

I have an elaborate Caldwell bench holding apparatus that I use when I want to shoot small groups, but I've always wanted a nice two-piece soft bag setup. 

I bought these on Amazon for cheap money, filled them with odorless, non-clump cat litter, and I love them.

Thanks, I just ordered some. Doe's the cat litter work pretty well? Would never have thought of that. It'll keep the weight down.

Sand would probably work best. Kitty litter breaks down after a while. You want it solid and stable and IMHO making it light weight won't help steady your shot.

I use tiny lead buckshot in couple of my bags. I think sand would be good enough.

I like the cat litter, no worries with animals eating the fill if I leave them out overnight etc..

Plus, you can adjust the fill level to suit your needs.

You guys found them cheaper, but just look at those estimated delivery times!! No way I have that kind of patience. Got mine in 3 days.

Also, that rear bag looks to have issues on the bottom. The one in the link I posted folds nice and flat without the extra material on the sides at the bottom.

BTW: I cut that annoying plastic snap hitch off the rear bag leaving the canvas loop intact. It was in the way.

Here are some pics.

I like the cat litter because of its irregular shape. It moves around and lets the rifle settle into it, unlike sand which seems to pack and you get what you get.

I fill mine with plastic Airsoft BB's, get a big jar of them at Walmart for 10 bucks. You can also fill a large winter sock to use as a bag. The airsoft ammo is light and easy to shape.

 I just ordered me one also. That is dirt cheap. Back in the day people use to use lead shot bags .

Like these Ripper? I've still got 4 of them Love em they just get a tad heavy at times depending where you're using them.

My bench is a ways from the house and my bags have spent the night out doors a time or two-think I may need a new set!
