Cheap Pump

Thought I would add a cheap EBAY pump to my fill options. It arrived today. Got it all assembled. I think the assorted O-rings are for a rebuild, right?

Anyway, when pumping it, the pump pressure guage gets up to the start of the green area and then there is a release of air and pressure drops to zero. No change in the guage on my gun. Ideas?

Figure out where the air is leaking from. Maybe your bleed valve isn't closed tight, or maybe it's leaking from around the gauge? Another possibility that I've seen is a leak from where the qd fitting is threaded onto the M10x1 threads of the hose. I guess your burst disc could have come already burst (or missing), but I doubt it.

The two thick walled O-rings go behind the gauge and the back of the hose. If you forget to put them in, you get exactly what you describe. There are re-build videos on youtube and there was a thread around Xmas that linked everything.( oops, the thread wasn't here, it was a bargain gateway thread). Don't bother sending it back, as you need to disassemble all hand pumps and re-lube regularly to keep them working well. Search for rebuilding a chinese 4500 psi hand pump on YT.

Found my leak. Or at least one of them. The quick connect at the rifle is letting air past it. It just doesn't seal on the connector.

use teflon.... I have had three of these and my friend has one as well.

As long as you use teflon in all of the threads, you'll be good. Well, unless there's an o-ring leaking.

Success! The quick connect fittings were leaking. Took a bit of trickery to find out. Once pressure built up a bit, air blew past the o-ring. Just a smidge tighter using two wrenches and I can now use the pump. Thanks guys. Now when the temps go back up a bit, I can test the new pellets that came in.

I have a manual pump ... how do you solve the problem of condensate that creates during pumping and enters the gun ... thanks
