Cheap FX chronographs..

I watched a video by “aim straight” in which he reviewed the fx chrony - he’d bought it himself. The video is a few years old, but he advocated for setting the chrony up off the gun and shooting with the muzzle an inch ahead of it. We have a phone holder on a tripod and for extra security i added a rubber band. I shot my 97K this way and it picked up every shot in this set-up. I kept it within a few inches of the gun and had pointed the chrony at the target.

A great value - $50 for a radar that a Luddite like myself could set up!

I bought one a while ago. I took an empty pellet tin lid, turned it upside down and set a .5" diameter magnet in the center. The magnet in the chrono itself now attaches via those two magnets attracted to one another. The tin lid works great as a base and is easily removed for better storage.

I took the chrono out this morning to do some testing. It worked flawlessly and the magnet inside the tin lid worked really well. I usually shoot off of my truck hood when testing/dialing in scope and the magnet is strong enough, that it attaches to my hood without moving at all.
Really impressed with the magnet to magnet set up for using this chrono.
