CF Wrap of LW 0.59" (15mm) Barrel?

Has anyone done this? Take a CF tube and wrap a LW barrel? Does a LW barrel this thick even need it? The FX noodle liners definitely a yes..lol

If you did wrap the LW barrel, what dimensions did the CF tube have? Was an ID on the CF tube matching the 15mm OD of the LW suitable or too tight? There are multiple wall thicknesses available 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm..which did you use?

Thoughts..even if you haven't tried this...

How stiff a barrel is depends on how long the barrel is for its diameter. Shorter barrels are stiffer at a give diameter. Making a barrel stiffer does not seem to have a downside other than weight, but it may not always show as much benefit as you expect. Depends on caliber and power too.

If you are going to stiffen the barrel with CF tube, use the thicker wall thickness.

Not CF tube has the same stiffness. If you want to a greater benefit, but can't fit in a very large CF tube, then choose a higher modulus type CF tube:

All this assumes that your application would have a favorable cost benefit ratio. Else, you may be paying a lot for bragging rights.
