N/A Central Pa Airgun Matc]Results 4/20

We moved this match up a week since most of us are attending the Cental Pa Airgun Show in Carlisle next Sat.. The move cost us some shooters but the match was still tightly contested. The first 3 shooters were within 1 point necessitating a shoot off for second/third. Nick Wacher edged Sam Salyards 60 to 59 in a close shoot off. They both had a score of 52 in the match and were slightly edged out by Jeff Gates 53. Jeff shoots an Air Arms TX200 while Nick and Sam both shoot HW 97s. Pics include today's winning targets.

Excuse my ignorance, but how is the scoring on the cards done? I see the 5 +1 and so on, how does the scoring system work? I know i could look it up but what fun is that, also, what distance are the targets, thanks.

Targets are at 20m or 22 yards. 1 point for hitting the animal. If pellet is totally inside the animal you get a .5 bonus. The target is the NRA 50 ft/16.66 yard target reduced in size 20%. It's amazing how difficult it is compared to putting a small dot out and using it to shoot a tiny group. Seems those little guys just won't stand still even off the bench. If you look at my chickens on the 25.5 target. Pretty ugly. But before I started that card I shot 5 shots in a very small round group at 12:00 right at the top edge of a 1/4 inch circle. Got to the chickens, I was shooting while they evidently were hopping, lol.
