Catastrophic Tank Failure

I dunno, at the moment I'm more concerned with all these entry level compressors with inadequate input filtering? (or not, I'm actually not concerned) Considering and contrasting the frequency and volume of compressor break-down versus tank break-down I'm surprised there are so many entry level devices with nothing more than a brass sintered filter before stage 1 compression. All this talk of moisture filtration and tanks and I have to wonder what happens during stage 3 compression under active load because it's super moisty?

The good news is though there is no shortage of salesmen's advice :)

Depending on the area where that tank is located, it may have been opened up like that for some time, kept as a display to show newbie hires that get hired to make welding gas deliveries, how mishandling can cause damages like that which could take a life. So, with that said, that rust could have collected on that tank over the years that company has had it. If that tank is in a warehouse close to saltwater or left out in the weather, it’ll rust like that in no time

Yeah definitely a topic of “hot debate” and where everyone has advice, especially the salesmen. I can hear the pitch on both sides.

——
Pitch 1: “if you don’t buy this, BOOM BOOM ByE-ByE.”

Pitch 2: “ Don’t look at the goo coming out of your pump, and don’t ask if it is going in your rifle.”

——

As for me, I like to keep my stuff nice regardless of safety.

PS: Funny how people are talking more about the stock photo then the subject. I will delete the example.
