Hi guys, anyone try to cast custom .303 bullets? I want try to create some with better BC than JSB 30´s pellets to long range shooting. With Lee equipment this can be done?
Should be able to find a mold , you need to know the actual size your rifle likes for best results though. For instance, the Texan is .45 cal, I use a .458 mold and size my rounds down to .457 using a Lee sizer. Very good results.
Your .303 bullets are probably .300 so you may want to slug your barrel. Besides a casting pot and mold you will need a sizing die and sizer because when bullets drop out of a mold they are not perfect and normally come out big and size to your barrel. You probably will need a custom die to be made for .300 as it is not a common size, especially in the weight range of a pellet.
