so.........
ever since i was a kid, i have always enjoyed outdoor activities that were “unpopular”.
growing up, and still Bowfishing is my passion. along with ice fishing and bowhunting for deer.
all three of these activities were not high on the popularity list. but every one of them have been flooded by newcomers and popularity in recent years. seems like i cannot have a spot to myself anymore. i blame the internet and social media.
why is it that some poeple have to brag about what they are doing? Ok, ok. bragging isnt terrible. but dont give away your spot in pictures or by flat out announcing it to the world! Your spot might be my spot! Thanks alot!
growing up, i would tell people i bowfish. 99% of them never heard of it or didnt know anyone who did it. now it is totally reversed.
ENOUGH SAID.
UNFORTUNATELY i see airgunning going down the same road. all the posts pushing guns and now FX hybrid pellets.
just sayin.... just remember this post years from now when u have a hard time getting a new permission because there are already some other airgunners that have the permission. IT WILL HAPPEN and u will be wishing you could go back to the old days.
not many people grow up easing into the sport and enjoying knowledge of the sport they love. now days a newcommer sees all the hype and top equipment and jumps right to the top. they are missing the point!
id like to know how many bowhunters that have taken up the sport in the last 15 years started with a recurve or longbow shooting with fingers. they dont know or appreciate how it feels to take an animal at close range( because shooting traditional gear you cant just pull of many shots over 30 yards).
could go on, but i think most see my point.
just needed to vent today.....
here were like 400 icefisherman showed up in a spot where ill bet 350 of them just got the word on the internet or social media instead of puting in their own time themselves.
thanks for listening.
