Career Career 707 air leak

I recently got a Career 707 mk2, but I am having problems filling it. As soon as I remove the fill adapter, it dumps all the air through the fill port. Does it need a new fill valve or is this an o-ring issue?

It could have a stuck check valve in fill adapter. Try some silicone oil in fill port whe filling may loosen check valve. If not you would need to make sure all air is out and remove fill port and replace small delrin check valve, Not hard to do and if you need someone to get parts or service from I can recommend someone who I have purchased many parts and o rings from for all my Korean rifles.

Try just pointing it down.
Worked most of the time.
Then I put a spring in mine to push it closed even when upright. Been working for 9 months.

They were also infamous for doing that with slow bleed valves. The pointing down suggestion is a good one. You need to SUDDENLY open the bleed valve after filling to get it to slam shut. Some bleed valves can't do this so pointing it down and/or tapping the end with a hard plastic hammer or equivalent should get it to close...

The check valve is in the rifle tube under the fill probe part. Try a couple drops silicon oil in the hole in tube then refill. Might try holding gun barrel down but mine did not need to do that. On several of mine the check valve had deteriorated from age to the point I had to replace them. Good luck

After vooming in on your image looks like a lot of crud in the end of the port for the check valve. May want to try to clean that out.

I've heard some say that it should be filled with the gun cocked. Is this correct, or should it be uncocked?

Yes whem tank is empty you should cock the rifle before filinf if not hammer may hold valve open and leak. The image I attached is a foster fitting I installed on all my Korean guns. Does away with fill probe. Did you clean out the fill port of all debris and put silicone in it before screwing port back on ?

Yes, I just did, but it is still leaking the air once I remove the fill adapter. I am using a pump and am just pumping a little air into it to see if it is holding air. Does it need to have a full tank to seal properly or will it seal well with any amount of air?

It does use back pressure to close the valve.

I replaced mine.

Even replacing the fill valve will not correct the leak. It seems to me it is the check valve has deteriorated inside the tube extension. Do you know how to disassemble it to get to the check valve ?

That is a 1 way Foster replaces the check valve.

Yes thank you I just looked and saw that. Did not know as the ones I have from PYRAMYD AIR are not one way. HIGH PRESSURE PNEUMATICS may be able to get one for OP. They carry them but out of stock. Only other places are overseas and they are out of stock.

When my .22 707 check valve went up it deteriorated and debris was thru out tubes. Had to disassemble to clean and did a reseal at same time.
