I received today my order and I was very excited with the delivery time . Just 4 days from UK to UAE . But when I opened the package big disappointment. Both tubes are broken from bad unprotected packaging. They are going to be install over my impact liners instead of orings . The good point is that both have been broken at 70 mm length ( both it supposed to be 1000 mm) . You got me what I mean .......
I don’t have any intention to return the package because I can do my job but I have send them an email just to be more carefully in their packaging next time ....
Mine just showed up yesterday with the box beat to hell. Luckily it wasn't damaged. It was the thinnest cardboard box just barely bigger than the tube itself smfh
The last few CF Tubes I have received from several suppliers were packed in hard cardboard tubes and well protected. One was even packed in a piece of schedule 40 PVC pipe which was extreme protection and now repurposed as a PCP Valve Removal tool! I have also begun moving to thicker tube walls than 1 mm which is actually quite fragile in certain situations.
Any idea where I can get some thinner tubes to put on my liners. I wanna put my liners inside these and then put it inside the barrel housing. So the carbon fibre removes the need to put orings on the liner.
these tubes I have purchased are Od 12mm and id 11mm. The liner of 30 cal will fit for sure but I don’t know if the od will fit inside the sleeve . I hope they will have a 0.3 tolerance ( thiner) .I order them from Uk and they came in 4 days in Middle East . Unfortunately I will delay to try if they fit in the sleeve ( in my next holidays December , my gun is in Greece ) .
Is good that they replied within half hour my email and they are trying to find a solution .That shows to me that they are professionals and these things always can happen by mistake . And mistake I mean maybe an employee forgot to rap it with protective material and in general the couriers you’re know how much gently ( haha! ) they are handling the packages in transportation.... Is not easy to brake a cf tube even if it is 1mm thick .Need to force it enough .... I think that happen because it is 1000mm long if it was 500mm probably would be much more difficult to brake .
Considering that carbon fiber is 5 times stronger than steel and 2 times more rigid, it must have taken quite an effort NOT to deliver them in one piece!
On the bright side, depending on what gun you’re putting it on, you should have plenty for multiples guns. I just made a carbon liner for my 700mm Impact and I only needed about 14” from the front of the action to the threads at the muzzle.
i understand what you mean .This mode you are mentioning is to give tension to the barrel so can not move. I have order as well different dimensions for this mode like od 20 id 14 3mm thick . The tubes that I receive broken I intend to use them to cover the full barrel for my impact 700mm and to fit it inside the sleeve. That means that I need to use at least a 600 mm length for each barrel . So is good that both broke exactly at 700mm length .
