Tuning Carbon Fiber Sleeve Install Guide + Test

I am running a three (possibly four) part series on Barrel Harmonics on the American Airgunner blog. Part 2 is all about installing/testing a carbon fiber sleeve. Part 3 (coming soon) will be a test of harmonic tuners.

I wanted to document the process and tests since there isn't a whole lot out there on this subject. I installed the sleeve on my trusty Air Arms S510 as a proof of concept rather than a test of any one manufacturer's product. Results were VERY...actually, I won't spoil it ;)

Here's Part 1 (a harmonics primer) for those interested.

I'm waiting to try a sleeve on my .25 Maverick Sniper. Problem is nobody has them in stock. I'm working on finding a tune that will allow me to shoot accurately 25.4, 33.9 pellets, and 33.6 Neilsen slugs just by changing the hammer spring setting. (Standard Superior liner)
My understanding is that the sleeve will help dampen harmonics and hopefully I can leave the micro adjustment alone when changing ammo.
