Can't Get Side Shot and MTC Viper Pro Tactical scope to work with I phone 8

So, I set up the Side Shot with my I phone 8 on my MTC Viper Pro Tactical scope and all it wants to record is my eyeball????? Anyone else run into this problem?

I put it on a SWFA 20x and it works, put it on an old Kahles scope and it works, have not tried NF or March scopes yet. I have no idea why the Side Shot and I phone 8 do not want to work with the MTC Viper Pro. Sent a instant message to the Side Shot mfg. and an E mail but no response yet.

No for selfie mode, Thought of that first, but then it just shows me looking at the screen, so that is not it.

Reflection off the ocular lens........hum maybe. A buddy and I were both wondering if there is some type of coating on the Viper lens that is giving a reflection. However, if I do not put the phone in the holder and just look through the lens aperture of the side shot I see the cross hair and object just fine through the scope/mirror, add the phone look through the scope ocular and the phone records my eye. I now have proof I do not blink as I fire the rifle, ha ha

I don't know how I could get the 90 degree lens backwards, (but that was a first thought too) and if it was backwards, then shouldn't it also not work on the other two scopes?

Hi Bob, I am using the GoPro side shot with my MTC Viper scope and I am not sure how the iPhone set up is but for me, the SS cap does not fit over the large diameter eyepiece of the MTC. Lights would creep in thru the gap and create a halo in my video footage. The video would look wash out and not much I could correct with editing. My solution was to use a set of plastic scope covers front and back attached together and I cap the large piece over the MTC eyepiece to prevent lights getting in the gap. The reflection of your eye as you see thru the eyepiece will disappear if you block n press your eye/face against the soft rubber eye piece in the SS.

i mentioned the DIY in one of my videos. AR Pestings.
