Can we test scopes reticle calibration at smaller range?

"Sheharyar"I don't have a 25yards indoor range.I was wondering if there was any other way to know it.
Sure you can. If you are limited to ten meters then you will need to be more careful in your measurements and computations but you can do it. If your scope is 1/4" at 100 yards then it should be (1/4)/10 or 1/40th inch at 10 yards. Shoot a group, move it 40 clicks and shoot another group.... measure between the groups and divide by 40 that should give you a number which you can then translate out to a hundred yards... or meters or ... whatever.

Suppose your shooting at ten yards and your second group center is 3.2 cm from your first group center. Suppose you adjusted 40 clicks. Then you have discovered that your click is equal to 32mm/40 = .8mm per click at 10 yards. Welp, 10 yards is 360/39.37 = 9.14 meters. From there you can compute whatever you want to know.

(100m/9.14m)*.8mm = 8.75 mm per click at 100 meters...

Anyway you get the idea. You just have to be more precise in your measurements if you are limited in your range.

I just did this and my lowly $200 sightron 4-12x FT scope is .28", but I'll tell you what... this is the only scope that I have had that went adjusting the adjustable jective that's on the end of the scope it is pretty close to what the numbers say meaning if the number 50 for 50 yards is on the end of the scope on the AO and I've arranged it I'm probably only off about 3-5yds at the most. There are only two things that I am not totally happy about what this scope. One is the thickness of the reticle and the other is there is no illumination especially when sometimes it's needed in field Target. Beyond that I love it and the crazy thing is, is that it's on a RWS 54 22 caliber and she has been holding up religiously.
