Can My New FX Impact Compact .22 Be THIS GOOD?

I lucked into a new FX Impact Compact .22 the other day (late August 2020.) I've shot about 50 rounds over the chronograph so far and am dumbfounded by what I saw. Can this be true?

  • regulator pressure gauge 95 BAR
  • starting tank pressure gauge 250 BAR
  • JSB 18.13g pellets
  • 862 fps average velocity
  • 7 fps extreme spread
  • 2 fps standard deviation
  • 9 shots

Has anyone purchased an FX Impact Compact .22 recently? Was your regulator setting around 95 BAR? Are you getting numbers similar to these?

I was just shocked by the regulator set at 95 BAR (if the gauge is accurate!) My Wildcat Does about the same numbers and was sent set to about 130 BAR. Maybe that Power Plenum makes that big of a difference. I'm looking forward to chronoing it from 250 BAR all the way down to going off the regulator. I'll update with shot count and other numbers when I do that.

Thanks.

Pretty amazing numbers guys. Thanks for the validation.

At first I thought my reg gauge might be faulty since it was reading a measly 95 BAR. However, it was proven correct when I shot down from a tank pressure of 250 BAR. After 116 shots both the tank gauge and reg gauge read 95 BAR. It was then the shot velocity started dropping thereby confirming I had just gone off reg.

Another surprise was all the different pellets the gun shot well. Of course the JSBs did fantastic but the thing also loved H&N Barracuda Match 21g which my Wildcat spewed all over the map.

The FX Impacts are just plain awesome. I have one in .25 and .30 cal and am getting similar or lower spreads. Some three HC mags worth at 70 FPE in .25 cal on a 580cc bottle. I have taken this gun completely apart as a newb at least four times now tweaking on stuff with no leaks to share to date. It just works, and works well. I think I'll keep mine, too.

That 700mm barrel must really make efficient use of air!

Do you know what the low-end limit is to the Impact's regulator? In other words, how low can the psi be set before it will go no lower?

I wouldn't go lower than 80, I tried to go around 75 and funny things happened. Not haha funny but strange funny.

Keep it above 85 IMO.
