Can I zero the turrets on my SWFA 3-15?

Unless it is a recent development, the SWFA has no built-in zero stops. However, there is a shim stack kit available that works for many. It is not as adjustable in practice as a dedicated zero stop, but it serves the purpose for me. Do a search on youtube to see how the kit works.

Pretty sure he is asking about making the turrets be at "0" when he is sighted in, not stopping at zero after shooting different distances. And the 10x I had does pull off after loosening the 3 screws, can't imagine the 3-15 would be different

Correct - I'm aware there is no zero-stop, I just want to zero the dials.

Makes me feel more comfortable a few have already done this. I'll give it another shot later, maybe I didn't loosen the set screws enough.

Now if you are looking for a ZERO stop you can use hose washers (if your frugal) instead of spending $20 on those shims

Yo - do you have this scope and have you performed the zero reset? I ask because I have previously loosened the three set screws and the turret did not easily move.

I get what you are saying is probably correct, but just in case there are mechanics under the cap that would be disturbed I don't want to take the chance.

There are no mechanics under the cap which will be disturbed. Those set screws simply hold the cap in place on the spindle.

There is no zero stop in the SWFA SS models. You can order a "stack" as one fellow mentioned and set up a scope stop which will allow you to reset to zero or you can make something similar out of plastic or rubber washers you get in a hardware store. You just stack them inside the turret until you can't turn a full turn below "zero" and you have it.

That is as good an optic as you can get for less than three times the price. I have three or four of them now. Good stuff.

I've never shot anything with more positive and repeatable click adjustments.

I undid the set screws and zero'd the turret. Like you guys said - it was just overcoming the suction from the o-ring. One I broke that vac seal the rest was easy.

Thanks all.

And - oldspook, I love this scope and wouldn't hesitate to get another. It's at the very top end of my comfort range spending for a scope though. As much as I drool over some of the $1500+ scopes like the Sightron and Kahles. I'll never have that 'one' gun to put an expensive scope on.
