I’m going to receive my refurb. BSA Scorpion SE (yep, it’s happening!!!!) soon, and since this little guy looks similar to the AV Adapter, I’m curious as to whether or not I can use this on the fill probe until my AV adapter comes.

Thanks,

AK

Wait—so can I just screw on the end of the fill probe to the place in my blue Chinese filter where the female foster fitting would screw in?

No, the Chinese stuff is usually metric. I would not have a problem using that fitting as long as the thread is compatible but the chances are, if it is a Chinese fitting, it will probably be metric too. There are plenty of brass fittings rated for HP use. For example, Best Fittings in the UK sell them. If it's only anodised aluminium, don't use it. I wouldn't guess what type of thread that was, just from those photos. The only way to be sure is to try it. You will need a Dowty seal, Delrin or nylon washer to make a proper seal or some type of thread glue. Just use a bit of common sense. If it looks dodgy, it probably is.

Nation,

If the pressure is under 850, brass may be used. I had a brass fitting similar to the one in the picture, and it blew in half. The pressure that I used was around 2000 psi. I will NEVER use any other fitting other than Stainless steel. I wish I would've saved the pieces, it would be good to illustrate. I cannot emphasize how POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS high pressure air is. You shouldn't be afraid if it, but use the PROPER fittings and respect it. It's not worth it...
