Can i shoot slugs in my 22 cals

You can shoot it. The real question should be, is it gonna be accurate. I own a marauder rifle and the pistol. Both are really weak in comparison to other .22 cal like the impact. My marauder pistol will max out 14 gr at 650fps. And my marauder rifle is about 900 fps with 18.1 gr jsb. So putting a heavier slug in will slow it down to below 800 fps. Could be ok but wont expect it to be as accurate as pellets at those speed. Slugs tend to do best 950 to 1000 fps.

If it will fit you can shoot it. I'm going to agree that it may be futile effort because of speed issues. Now if you are looking for a project then by all means spend money and change the gun to push slugs fast enough. If it was mine and shooting well on pellets I'd keep it where it likes to be. I can push my speed up or down with the turn of a knob no mods needed, if what I'm sending down the pipe doesn't like my speed range then I find what it does like and feed it that. I like the finesse of an air rifle for accuracy if I need brute force to complete the task then it's time for the right PB tool.

in the 30 - 35FPE power range, I've successfully grouped these slugs in Evanix/Daystate guns:

This one also groups very well, but I didn't perform and exhaustive test since my other rifles where already sighted with one of the above slugs:

You will also need to slug your barrel:

Yes, there are POI shifts between .217 and .218 from my experience. About 1/2" at 30 yards. However, the groups are very similar. The slugging the barrel process will determine what diameter to purchase.

I have used the Nielsen Specialty .217 17.5gr in a few of my .22’s.. DAR Gen 3 (Dynamic Air Rifles), Benjamin Armada & Beeman 1358 Underlever & they have grouped really good with factory tunes on all.. so my guess is they will do well for the most part in moderately powered guns.. they are loose in the mags is the only downfall..

Why would a slug get stuck? Aside from a dbl feed? Just curious?

If the slugs are long and oversized, and your gun is underpowered, and the barrel is potentially choked, all these things can lead up to a stuck slug. Because many guns/barrels weren’t designed for such. May never happen. Just something to be aware of.

Ok I understand that, Thanks, thats why I ordered these light ones, @ 17.5gr I figured most moderately powered guns shouldn’t have an issue.. I appreciate the feedback, I’m fairly new slugs ect..
