can I replace the gas ram in Gamo Swarm 10x gen2 and put spring from HW30s

Hi,

Can I replace the gas ram in Gamo Swarm 10x gen2 and put a spring from HW30s??

I liked the 10x magazine but want low cocking effort because I don't need that much power of the gas ram. (the swarm cocking effort is 30lbs and the HW30s cocking effort is just 18lbs)

What are the modifications that I need? Will it be easy?

I wonder too. Perhaps you can trim some of the spring off? You'll lose some FPS, but maybe?

Why not sell it and use the money to buy a springer with that cocking weight? The weapon is engineered for the spring or piston. It is a total package. To alter it will destroy the efficiency if not properly tweaked. If you are an air rifle gunsmith and have the proper tools, you probably can get it to work. If not, you may end up with a valueless weapon that has no retail potential. This is nothing more than MHO. Good luck.

You're gonna need a piston. Might need short stroked? 

Probably not easy to get a Gamo piston.

You can possibly get a UK 12 ft lb ram from UK. Maybe even eBag UK.

Perhaps even Customairseals?

The HW30S spring is way to small for that gamo. Check Vortek tuning or ARH headquarters to see if you can find something comparable. They are way smaller than an HW95 or HW85 spring.

Not worth the effort, the trigger / sear latching mechanism is completely different from gas to spring. Also much to expensive to try and make the switch. Ether trade the rifle of just buy what you want

You didn't say what caliber you were interested in; but, there isn't a whole lot of difference in power between the 2 air rifles. Stick w/ the HW30s if you want accuracy. (That would be my choice too).
