Can fx magazines be inserted on the left side?

With the Impact i dont think so, I shoot left with the sideshot magazines and it's not an issue. Its more around chin level and doesn't get in the way. Fredrik owner of FX is a lefty so i think they're designed with ambi shooters in mind. Reversible cheek rests, cocking handles and safeties should be able to be switched over IMO on future models.

I am a lefty with an Impact. I don't have any issues with the mag. It's out of the way and doesn't get my attention when shooting. I also keep the cocking handle OEM. I like it better on the right. I never have to take my left-hand off the grip/trigger. Speed shooting style. Also, I wouldn't want the mag on the left side.

I held off for years buying this gun because of being a lefty and thinking FX didn't care for us with a non-swappable handle, but for another $125 you can buy a left-hand cocking block. I still feel left out though with that (no pun), but didn't need it after all. The cocking is so easy is why. Almost zero cocking force.

I go back to my Marauder which has left-hand cocking and I don't like that now lol.

If the high capacity mag ends up being an annoyance, there are some options out there.

  • Use the original FX Impact mag - still loads on the right but is smaller than the high capacity mag.
  • Buy an FX “Standard“ mag - loads from the left but has much less capacity.
  • Buy an Eagle Vision FX “standard” mag - loads from the left and has higher capacity.

If you end up buying an Impact, try it out as it comes first then decide if you need to make a change. I found that using a scope with an eye relief between 3-3.5” allows me to mount the scope forward enough so my cheek weld clears the magazine protrusion.
