Can Crown's barrel be installed on Impact?

Did anyone try to install Crown's STX. 22 barrel on 1st and 2nd generation FX Impact ?

Is it possible without machining?

You can swap liners between the two. They use the same liners. Liners is the one that have the rifling. The barrel is actually just a hollow tube to hold the liner.

Liner and sleeve, both inside the shroud.

Would have a different barrel inlet as well. But diameter of sleeve and barrel inlet should be identical. Shroud is different as mentioned.

Yes you can. I have a very early Impact and I have a Crown. I have 5 barrels. They all fit either my Impact or my Crown. Just need to change the shroud.

Without the shroud the barrels are interchangeable. You Will need a spare moderator like a hugget or a Donny FL to screw on to either barrel since the original shrouds aren’t exchangeable.
