The Tactacam unit works best for me. I simply mount it to my scope with a san disk inserted and record to the clarity of the scope being used.

IMO the key is to have a phone with a high quality camera. At least newer than my beater IPhone 5se. (Or use a GoPro type of camera.)
I tried the Sideshot for a while. Had to do some minor fiddling with it to get it just right. Worked great as a camera-phone-scope adapter. I liked how once you got it mounted and adjusted you could install/remove the phone without having to tinker with it to do video. However, my much older IPhone sucked as a recording device when looking through the scope.
