So I plan on buying my first pcp here in the next couple weeks and I'm pretty stoked. There are a couple different guns I'm looking at but my only issue is that the place I'm at isn't exactly pcp friendly. Just isn't enough space to shoot. Would it be odd if I took my pcp rifle to the gun range?

I would call the range and ask if they'll let you bring your tank One of the ranges here won't let you bring the tank to the firing line.They're afraid that the tank will explode. It would be a hassle to have to go back to your vehicle every time you needed air. . That said, lots of people bring air guns to the range. Just remember to bring hearing protection.

Put the tank in a duffel—no one ever knows the difference! I have half the fire dept and local police officers trying to figure out how to get their own. Everybody wants to trade me a used Glock or 22 rifle for a $2000 dollar PCP! Ha! One indoor range told me to remove the “silencer” !! lol! Educate them and be a champion of the sport.

Just check before you go or stop by and ask... you can always tune your PCP down to be backyard friendly too.

speaking of backyard friendly lol I use the Target forge steel trap and it works perfectly in my backyard for less than 100$ I think for the setup. I've got my mavericked tuned pretty powerful too, like 850 FPS shooting around 40 yards sometimes. I dude bring it to a higher setting to get that 900-930 FPS for 100--150 yards in the desert.

That Target Forge trap looks nice but a 6"x6" limitation on the target seems pretty limiting. My home made trap takes a 8.5x11 target and I think it's small. I suspect my 3/4 plywood filled with rubber mulch trap is also quieter. I love to have a steel trap a bit bigger than the Target Forge - big enough for at least an 8.5x11 target (probably backed with cardboard so it will lay flat). When I test relatively inaccurate ammo the sides of my trap get shot up.

I take mine to two different ranges and so fr three guys have bought rifles fitter shooting my S410 and my Maverick . One got a Daystate Revere and the other two RAW HM1000LRT. They get lots of attention especially when you let them shoot them at the inch and a half spinners at a hundred yards.
