Bushnell Engage vs Vector Veyron

Gary,
I'm a Vector Veyron fanboy but also use Bushnell. Appreciate the clear, bright glass on both, VV gets the nod for sharpness and smooth operation. I've three VV 6-24x44 FFP (Non-IR) and one VV 3-12x44. I hunt/pest with 10x or 12x, but target with 24x. FFP reticle disappears @ 6-8x, but don't use those powers anyway. Prefer, at least, 24x for target work, won't go lower. WM

Thanks everyone for your insights, I appreciate your advice and recommendation. Im target shooting a PCP AGT Vixen Long .22cal. at distance of 50'to 150'. I have done my research on both scopes and Brands. Glass quality and clarity as well as the overall quality are my most import factors in selecting a scope based on my shooting needs. I do not wish to go higher than 16x based on my budget and quality needs - Budget ($250-$450).

I'm looking for your professional & experienced advice and reco's

Do the turrets on the engage lock? And which reticle do you like? those are the big deciding factors for me when choosing a scope.
@Harv24 They pop up to adjust and push down to lock similar to the Veyron. However, the Bushnell turrets have more pronounced clicks and less slop in them IMO.

@GaryD13 There’s a noticeable difference between the two 4-16x scopes you’re asking about. The Engage is longer (approx 14.5”) and feels heavier than the Veyron (approx 12”). The Engage’s tube looks to be almost the same as the tube on a 6x24x50 Nitro. The Engage’s illumination is much brighter than the Veyron’s. The Engage has multiple reticle styles (I like the Deploy MOA reticle), while the Veyron has one reticle style that I’m aware of. Only the Veyron’s center dot is illuminated versus the Engage (with the Deploy MOA reticle) whose crosshairs light up in the center and when magnified enough provide illumination for a few holdover and windage marks as well.

Here’s a length comparison:

Personally I prefer the Bushnell, but if weight and length are my concerns then it wouldn’t be my choice on a compact rifle. The difference in the glass isn’t so pronounced to me that it would be a deal breaker one way or another. I use these scopes for different guns. The Veyron goes on a bullpup. The Engage goes on a full-length rifle. I do shoot paper, but I am a hunter and my shooting revolves around that. I can only really speak to you from that perspective. A bench-rest shooter may have a totally different perspective here.

Now I have 3 Bushnell Engages I one Vector Veyron These scopes are different, but both optic good.It depends on what you will be doing and mounting scope on OK the Bushnell Engage, please be careful what rectile you get on the Bushnell because some of then are harder to read than others...I have the Deploy and It is not the best for me.....but it works I would rather have a Mil-Dot,the Deploy has small cross-hair center, also make sure you get AO .That said the Veyon a good less expensive scope.

I use and really like the SFP Veyron 6-24. It is under $200 at Krale. Delivered might be a little over $200. I did not buy SFP instead of FFP based upon price, however. I want 24X for shooting targets and 6X for hunting/pesting. With a thin reticle good for target shooting 6X becomes unusable with FFP IMHO. So I prefer SFP. I've never looked through the Bushnell Engage but I would not drop back to 16X for shooting targets. I've done it and my scores were obviously lower. My Veyron is not as clear as my Arken 6-24 but it's size is better suited to my P35s and it also costs a lot less. For it's price I think it has good glass and adjustments.
